Home ownership made easy.
- The South African Housing Club promotes homeownership. We offer a variety of creative and easy-to-use options for everyone, be it a business or mine seeking to address the housing needs of its employees, a lender wishing to reduce leakage on a dedicated housing loan product, or just a regular person with a desire to own a home.
Vision.
- In consultation, we brainstorm all the housing opportunities available. We identify blind spots not always obvious to the ordinary individual.
Mission
- Developing a unique tailormade pathway to homeownership
Purpose
- To bridge the gap between government housing initiatives, corporate entities and households in the Housing Gap Market.

"The household is in the best position to make decisions about their own housing and should be at the core of any housing decision" Matthew Nell, Founder SA Housing Club
Who we are
- The South African Housing Club (SAHC) is a pioneer in facilitating home ownership which is based on over 30 years of experience in both research in the affordable market and offering housing related services to large corporate employers. Our single-minded purpose is to assist as many people as we can to enjoy the freedom and benefits that home ownership brings to the individual, the family, and the community. The South African Housing Club facilitates, supports, and promotes homeownership of decent, habitable, and sustainable housing in the affordable housing market.
- A Housing Consultation: The consultation can be done online or in person at our office in Rosebank. A qualified housing advisor will spend 30 to 60 minutes with you to assess how much you can afford; what are the housing options available to you; the estimated costs of these options and how to find the right financing for your chosen housing option. The consultation will provide you with a Housing Action Plan that details your preferred housing option(s) with the estimated costs and potential funding sources.
- Feasibility: If you wish to obtain the services of the SAHC, we will assist you with detailed Next Steps to realize your housing aspiration. You will be provided with advice and be allocated a Housing Advisor that will walk the journey with you all the way. Advice will be provided in house hunting, or if you planning to build to obtain house plans and gather quotations. A technical team will review your Sales Agreement or will do a detailed cost analysis for your building materials quotations and provide advice on this.
As a registered intermediary of the Government First Home finance subsidy, we can apply for a subsidy for you, and assist with further funding applications to Lenders. - Advice and Support throughout your House Buying or Building project: Once your finance is approved your housing advisor will provide Housing Transaction support to purchase or build a house.
- Company Housing Policy: In collaboration with our associates, Shisaka Development Management Services, we will review or develop a housing policy based on the company’s needs, budget and vision for employee housing. The housing policy will define and describe the housing support the company will offer to employees. In our view, the best Housing Policies considers all the stakeholders which include employees’ current housing status and aspirations; the companies housing principles and budget, and an understanding of the housing market environment in which company employees need to transact. For Mineral Right Holders, the DMRE’s Housing and Living Conditions standard will be included.
- Housing Wellness Support: Based on your policy and budget a Housing Wellness Service will be tailor-made for your company. Based on each company’s policy and budget the service can be as little as access to a Housing Wellness Call Centre, or as elaborate as setting up a Housing Wellness Office on site. The Wellness Service includes advice on becoming a homeowner; exploring individual housing opportunities available; establishing household affordability and estimated costs of a housing aspiration. Funding application support is provided for First home Finance subsidies, bond or other finance applications. Support is provided by a dedicated housing advisor throughout the house purchase, housebuilding or house-upgrade process
- Grant Fund management: The SAHC provides a grant management function in line with the Bank’s Act of 1994, based on the provision made for the common-bond principle. Within this function housing grants can be managed on behalf of the company where all grant funding is paid directly towards a building material supplier, a contractor or transferring attorney. The risk management of home ownership funding ensures zero leakage as well as agreed housing outcomes are achieved in line with the budget provided.
